Learning Objectives/Task: Students will chose one of the following journal prompts and work on their weekly journal (Two Paragraphs). Prompts: 1. What is one big thing you want to achieve for this coming year? Make it something realistic to achieve within 6-12 months. Write the details of this in your journal. 2. If you were given 15 minutes with the President, what would you tell him to change and why would you have it changed? Explain 3. Write about a recent trend or fashion that you think is ridiculous, and explain why you don’t like it. Give details 4. Compare to last year, how can you improve your life for this new year. Give details. LEARNING OUTCOME: Students should be able successfully complete their weekly journal. SOCIAL INTERACTION: THE TYPE OF SOCIAL INTERACTION IS EXPECTED/ALLOWED.

Learning Objectives/Task Students will log in to their Mc Graw Hill account and watch the video preview of The Diary of Anne Frank. Students will then share their ideas about the story to come based on the preview. Students will then read the passage The Diary of Anne Frank. Students will use context clues to figure out the meaning of the words in bold. After reading, students will work with those at their table to discuss the think questions. Students will complete the think questions. LEARNING OUTCOME: Students should be able to read given short stories and respond correctly to questions asked.
