Learning Objectives/Task Students will log in to Mc Graw Hill to access the reading Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, An American Slave. Students will read and listen to the introduction of the short story “Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, An American Slave ”, and complete the introductory activity using their imagination. Students will write the following vocabulary words at the back of their paper. Students will use context clues to figure out the meaning of the words while reading.
LEARNING OUTCOME: Students should be able to read given short stories and respond correctly to questions asked. SOCIAL INTERACTION: THE TYPE OF SOCIAL INTERACTION IS EXPECTED/ALLOWED

Learning Objectives/Task: Students will chose one of the following journal prompts and work on their weekly journal (Two Paragraphs). 1. What is something scary that you would like to try? What makes it scary for you? How might you overcome that fear? 2. What is your most difficult subject in school? Why is it difficult? What can you do to get better at that subject? 3. What is something you know how to do really well, such as playing a musical instrument, making something creative, or helping with a household task? Write directions for someone else to do this activity. 4. Pick a topic you already know a lot about, such as a favorite sports team, a movie star, a type of music, or something else that fascinates you. Write two paragraphs explaining the topic to someone else. LEARNING OUTCOME: Students should be able successfully complete their journal prompt. SOCIAL INTERACTION: THE TYPE OF SOCIAL INTERACTION IS EXPECTED/ALLOWED.
