Learning Objectives/Task Students will log in to their Mc Graw Hill account and read or listen to the introduction to “Home”. Students will complete the first two sections of their KWL chart. As the reading progresses students will fill in the third section. While reading the passage, students will use context clues to figure out the meaning of the words in bold.
After reading, students will work with those at their table to discuss the think questions. LEARNING OUTCOME: Students should be able to read given short stories and respond correctly to questions asked. SOCIAL INTERACTION: THE TYPE OF SOCIAL INTERACTION IS EXPECTED/ALLOWED

Learning Objectives/Task Students will log in to their Mc Graw Hill account to look at the close read section of the reading “Home”. Teacher will discuss the writing the prompt. Prompt: Yevgeny Petrovitch Bykovsky states that he achieves an understanding of life from sermons and laws, not from fables, novels, and poems. How does he change throughout the story? Write an essay of least 300 words explaining how he moves from logic to the use of stories and fairy tales as he attempts to reason with his son. Use textual evidence from the story to support your ideas. Students will then log in to Schoology to complete their essay responding to the writing prompt. LEARNING OUTCOME: Students should be able to read given passage and respond correctly to questions asked. SOCIAL INTERACTION: THE TYPE OF SOCIAL INTERACTION IS EXPECTED/ALLOWED
